How Stuff Works has an article that lists “15 Of The Coolest Accidental Inventions .” There’s a few notable food items like Corn Flakes, chocolate chip cookies, and potato chips. Of course Post-It Notes and velcro are on the list. And then there’s the Play-Doh, Silly Putty, and Slinky which were inventions born out of more serious attempts at a product that initially failed and, with the help of some imagination, turned into toys that bring joy.

B. F. Skinner (March 20, 1904 – August 18, 1990) was an American psychologist, behaviorist, inventor, and social philosopher. He was the Edgar Pierce Professor of Psychology at Harvard University from 1958 until his retirement in 1974.
