- The lesser-known senses include spatial awareness and balance, such as proprioception which is how your brain understands where your body is in space.
- Touch can influence how humans make decisions; touch can convey emotion, such as compassion.
- Humans may be able to smell over 1 trillion scents, according to the National Institutes of Health.
- Adults have 2,000 to 4,000 taste buds. Most of them are on the tongue, but they also line the back of the throat, the epiglottis, the nasal cavity and the esophagus.

Confucius (c. 551 – c. 479 BCE) was a Chinese philosopher and politician of the Spring and Autumn period who is traditionally considered the paragon of Chinese sages. Confucius’s teachings and philosophy underpin East Asian culture and society, remaining influential across China and East Asia to this day.
