The Rubik’s Cube was invented in 1974 by Ernõ Rubik, a Hungarian architecture professor. There’s a World Cube Association that governs “twisty puzzle” competitions, and the fastest Rubik’s Cube solvers can complete the puzzle in 3 seconds. Whatever they’re doing, it’s way faster than my childhood method of peeling off and reapplying the colored stickers to complete the puzzle.

Confucius’s teachings and philosophy underpin East Asian culture and society, remaining influential across China and East Asia to this day.
