Desmond Tutu
Speaking of tiny things, did you know that 2,500 years ago a Greek man known as Democritus suggested that atomos - or tiny, indivisible objects - make up all matter in the universe? At the time, “early Greek philosophers believed the entire universe was a single, huge entity. In other words, ’everything was one.’ They believed that all objects, all matter, and all substances were connected as a single, unchangeable ’thing.’” From the “Atoms - Ideas from the Ancient Greeks ” article by the LibreTexts Chemistry website.
