Little Voice
Trust that little voice in your head that says ‘Wouldn’t it be interesting if…’; And then do it.
Duane Michals
Ever have a song stuck in your head, an “earworm”? This article “Why you can’t get a song out of your head and what to do about it ” from the Harvard Health Blog has some tips. One, don’t try to block the song out as a “determined effort to block the song out may result in the very opposite of what you want.” Chewing gum may help as it interferes with hearing the song in your head. Apparently, “in one study, the most helpful ‘cure’ tunes were ‘God Save The Queen’ by Thomas Arne and ‘Karma Chameleon’ by Culture Club.” Also, try to listen to the tune in full since the earworm may be caused by only remembering part of the song.
