Torn Mornings
I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.
E.B. White
This is for those of you who like to plan your planning: an “Introduction to the Zettelkasten Method ”. What is it? “A Zettelkasten is a personal tool for thinking and writing. It has hypertextual features to make a web of thoughts possible. The difference to other systems is that you create a web of thoughts instead of notes of arbitrary size and form, and emphasize connection, not a collection.” Basically, you record smallish notes in a particular way that allows them to be easily retrieved, either on paper or digital, for any and every subject you’re interested in. If you “have an immediate need to solve the riddle of knowledge work, feel overwhelmed by your master’s thesis, try to level up your blog, want to write a book because it’s cool, try to get on top as a consultant, excel at research…” yadda yadda yadda, this may be a great diversion for you.
