Proud of It
I am patient with stupidity but not with those who are proud of it.
Edith Sitwell
We all have moments of stupidity. Ever catch yourself during the stupid and wonder why? If you’re too lazy like me, you’ll skip this exhaustive list of cognitive biases from Wikipedia because there’s too many to count, plus that overwhelming list may cause a bit of saddening over how flawed our thinking can be. The following list from Verywell Mind is a bit easier to read through since it’s only “13 Types of Common Cognitive Biases That Might Be Impairing Your Judgment ”… ugh, some of these sting.
About the author
Dame Edith Louisa Sitwell (7 September 1887 – 9 December 1964) was a British poet and critic and the eldest of the three literary Sitwells. She reacted badly to her eccentric, unloving parents and lived much of her life with her governess. She never married but became passionately attached to Russian painter Pavel Tchelitchew, and her home was always open to London’s poetic circle, to whom she was generous and helpful.
