Music can play an important role in our emotional regulation. If you can get past some of the hyperbole, this Louder article titled “Study finds that death metal makes people feel ‘joy and peace’ ” references an Australian study that determined “fans of violent death metal music experience power, joy and peace while listening to this music”. Granted, the people in the study who weren’t death metal fans experienced “tension, anger and fear”, so choose your anger music wisely.
