Ever work with someone who thought they were smarter and more capable than they really were? They might be prone to the Dunning-Kruger Effect which is a “cognitive bias in which people wrongly overestimate their knowledge or ability in a specific area. This tends to occur because a lack of self-awareness prevents them from accurately assessing their own skills.” Jesus knew: “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart…”

Epictetus (c. 50 – c. 135 AD) was a Greek Stoic philosopher. He was born into slavery at Hierapolis, Phrygia (present-day Pamukkale, in western Turkey) and lived in Rome until his banishment, when he went to Nicopolis in northwestern Greece, where he spent the rest of his life.
