The Most Beautiful Things
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart.
Helen Keller
The eagle, a bird of prey, can see about eight times as far as humans and takes the title of the best eyesight distance in the animal kingdom. What about other types of eye traits such as which animal has the biggest eyes relative to it’s body size? How about great night vision? The UK’s Natural History Museum has an article that covers that, “Amazing eyes: 17 vision champions .” Did you know that geckos have incredible night vision? Now you do. Or that the colossal squid has the largest eyes in the animal kingdon, about the size of a football? Now you do. Neat!
About the author
Helen Adams Keller (June 27, 1880 – June 1, 1968) was an American author, disability rights advocate, political activist and lecturer. Born in West Tuscumbia, Alabama, she lost her sight and her hearing after a bout of illness at the age of 19 months. She then communicated primarily using home signs until the age of seven, when she met her first teacher and life-long companion Anne Sullivan. Sullivan taught Keller language, including reading and writing. After an education at both specialist and mainstream schools, Keller attended Radcliffe College of Harvard University and became the first deafblind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree.
