Jean-Luc Picard, Season Two, Episode 21, ‘Peak Generation’.
Young me would hear or read this quote and get bummed out because young me would immediately think about the futility of trying anything. Why try if I can fail, right? I’m trying to not be that person. Instead, maybe I should think about how to manage my expectations and have hope. Not trying is pretty much the same as always failing. And trying and failing is progress. And progress is healthy.
