Appreciate Gratitudes
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.
John F. Kennedy
Reader’s Digest has an article about “Famous Last Words from 18 Iconic People .” W.C. Fields uttering “I’m looking for loopholes” on his deathbed seems fitting. Stephen Hawking’s is a kind of bland “let us work together” type message, except it was beamed into the nearest black hole, which is pretty rad. Billie Holiday’s “Don’t be in such a hurry” final words are fitting in an age where hustle culture seems the norm.
