The online magazine Loudwire has an article about the “The History of Guitar Smashing in Rock ‘n’ Roll ”. For the guitars that were repairable after the destructive acts, what types of glue would a luthier use to mend the broken wood? As with all trade crafts, there’s a deep well of knowledge in mundane things like what glue to use. The Art of the Lutherie article about the “What Is The Best Glue For Guitar Building? ” helps answer that. What I find neat about this is that animal glue, specifically glue made from the air bladders of fish, such as the mentioned “Norland High Tack Fish Glue”, was used centuries ago and is still one of the most popular types of glue luthiers use.
