I don’t know why I was surprised that a search for “gift-giving holidays from around the world” would turn up a bunch of posts from money exchange websites. In any case, here’s an article about “40 Unique Gift Giving Traditions Around the World ” from a company that offers experiential travel gifts, Xperience Days. Did you know that in India you should give odd amounts of money as a gift? Now you do. In Asia, don’t offer anything with the left hand. Just visited the pyramids in Egypt and want to give a local something from the gift shop (why, I don’t know)? Make sure you wrap it twice in two different colors. What’s not mentioned are smiles, which are free and universally understood – the perfect gift!
