Sing unto the Lord a new song. Let them praise His name in the dance”? And it was King David - King David, who we read about in Samuel - and what did David do? What did David do?… David danced before the Lord with all his might… leaping and dancing before the Lord." - a quote from Kevin Bacon’s character Ren from the 1984 movie Footloose.

He is considered to be one of the 20th century’s greatest poets, as well as a central figure in English-language Modernist poetry. His use of language, writing style, and verse structure reinvigorated English poetry. He is also noted for his critical essays, which often reevaluated long-held cultural beliefs.
