Plant a Tree for Someone Else to Enjoy

Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.

Most of us were taught that in school at some point and may not even think about it anymore. Sometimes I try to remind myself of this process as I pass by a weed growing through the crack of the sidewalk or when I look up to an immense tree towering overhead. And it fills me with awe. That the giant tree and lowly weed, from just water and air, are able to build themselves up and thrive is amazing.
